Promiseland is looking for musicians who love to play and who love to serve God. Promiseland currently has a weekend band in the Grade 4/5 room and wants to create a 2nd band. We are looking for guitarists, drummers, bassists, & keyboards. Having vocal ability is a PLUS. If you are interested in using your gifts to serve God and help kids connect with God through worship, please contact Jeff Fulton.
I thought I would post a couple of the new songs that we learned together this past weekend.
Rising (A Song of Ascent) by Charlie Hall
Charlie is not only a fantastic song writer but also a personal friend of mine. You can download ‘Rising’ as well as other songs from his new record HERE.
All the Poor and Powerless by Sons and Daughters
I just sort of stumbled onto this song a few months ago. This is from a new band out of Franklin, TN. They don’t even have an album yet but you can download a version of this song for free HERE.
I love worshiping with you guys!
Every week we worship at Student Impact through music. But where did the idea of worship come from, and what is the point of it? It may not come as a surprise to many of you that worship through song is not something new that the church recently came up with, but something that took place during the time that the Bible was written as well. In Psalm 95:1-2 David talks about worship when he says: “Come, let us sing for joy to the Lord; let us shout aloud to the Rock of our salvation. Let us come before him with thanksgiving and extol him with music and song.” You see, worship is a way for us to adore our Savior, to cry out to Him, and to express our gratitute of what He has done for us.
Comment to this post and let us know some worship songs that have really meant something in your life and why. Perhaps it is a phrase from a song that reminds you of a truth about God, or maybe a phrase that compels you to live life differently. We would love to hear from you!
